We waited 45 minutes after seated and then went to ask if we could order anything.

As it was my birthday I splashed out and ordered the halibut. It was truly awful. Very overcooked, dry and chewy and tasteless. Such a shame to do this to an expensive piece of fish. The potatoes were also terrible, luke warm and not seasoned and basically new potatoes roasted off. The broccoli was almost raw – I could not eat any of the stems – luckily my dog likes raw broccoli. There was a teaspoon amount of sauce – the plate of food was not good – probably the worse meal I’ve had. My companions fared better – 2 roast beef plates – with those gigantic Yorkshire puddings – why do the kitchens serve those up! One was burnt and dry but a less burnt soggy one was brought on request. The fish and chips was very good. The moral is – stick to pub grub and avoid anything more ambitious. Oh and avoid Sundays – it was heaving with dogs and small children.

The food is fabulous, the location is amazing, the view is second to none, the staff are great. What more can I say ☺️

My only wish, personally, would be to add a couple of disabled spaces near the entrance of the carpark because it is so popular I can’t always park near to the entrance.

Although we didn’t say when we booked the table, it was for my Mums special birthday, which was briefly mentioned when we arrived. It came as a complete surprise when after our deserts out came a brownie with a candle! It made her day! Thank you

We have throughly enjoyed our meals on two separate occasions! One evening, chicken in a cream sauce so tasty and the pork belly was beautifully cooked, good portion & well presented washed down with a lovely mulled wine! Thank you so much!

Went to king William IV for a spot of lunch, the food was amazing. Staff really lovely xx
